Harry Potter is a series that has imparted to me many lessons about friendship and love and I will always carry it in my heart.

Harry Potter is a boy living with his spiteful aunt and uncle- that is, until he finds that he is a wizard with powers that he never knew existed.  A dark wizard plots his demise as he struggles to adjust to a new wizarding school and new friends. (The Sorcerer's Stone)

Hazel is a terminal cancer patient who has lost her taste for life- that is, until she meets Augustus Waters, who changes her perspective on life and teaches her that the world is her oyster.  A touching love story that moved me to tears.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians (Rick Riordan)

Another timeless classic that never dies <3 Percy Jackson is just another teenager, struggling to get by.  Or is he?  An attack from his math teacher- who doesn't even seem to be human- introduces him to a world of demigods and monsters.  All of the Greek myths are real- and Percy is right in the middle of a feud between two of the strongest gods.  (The Lightning Thief)
